Situated in the northeastern part of India in the tiny state of Sikkim, Yumthang Valley is the home to a variety of tribes like the Lepchas, Bhutias, Nepalis, etc. Yumthang Valley is situated in the Himalayan belt of North Sikkim and is a mesmerizing land of hot springs, yaks and grazing pastures with around 24 species of Rhododendrons, the state flower of Sikkim that is known for its varied species.  A tributary of Teesta flows through this valley making the land bewitching. The nearest town to Yumthang Valley is Lachung and a forest house is a permanent resident in the valley. The valley is at an elevation of 3,564 metres (11,693 ft) above msl (mean sea level) at a distance of 150 kilometres (93 mi) from the capital city of Sikkim, Gangtok. The flowering season in this wondrous land starts from late February to mid-June when countless flowers bloom and carpet the valley of Yumthang. For the lovers of skiing, Yumthang provides numerous skiing opportunities. Visit this beautiful place and feed your nature-blessed soul.
