4N5D MEGHALAYA WOMEN ONLY TOUR

Going to Meghalaya which is in India's NorthEast was like a dream for me. Being a proper Delhiite our weekend or long trip usually is Goa, Uttrakhand and Himachal Pradesh but still northeast for us was some distant place but for me, it was a paradise waiting to be explored!

Honestly, I wouldn’t in my wildest dream have imagined going there that too alone but destiny had it. I had to visit Guwahati for some work and then it struck me that Meghalaya is barely 2hrs away from Guwahati. Then I started my long planning and talking to every person who has gone there, bombarding numerous questions, stalking people on Instagram (yes I am that crazy). But there is one question I asked everyone there. Is it safe to go alone there?

I visited the paradise, the hidden gem of our country which is so untouched and raw that it took my heart! I can never forget this beautiful trip to Meghalaya. It taught me a lot of things about me and about nature! I dared to go there alone and did I feel lonely? I guess never for a second I felt it as I was surrounded by amazing food, helping people who are so warm and welcoming and the beautiful Meghalaya.

It’s true that travelling has the potential to change you into a better person! Well, I myself experienced it and now a firm believer of this notion. I said goodbye to Meghalaya with that nostalgic feeling and promised to come here again to see more undiscovered part of this state. Meghalaya practices a matrilineal system, where women take the family name and are dominant in the household affairs. Most shops are managed by women. Observe this welcome change while you are in Meghalaya.

I am so proud of this state of India which is so modern, giving more importance and respect to the woman than any other state of the country, giving better health facility and the standard of living there is so up to the mark which is 100% safe for the woman!

Trip Itinerary

DAY 1: GUWAHATI TO SHILLONG (100KMS APPRX):

Arrive at Guwahati airport and travel to Shillong. On the way visit the beautiful Umiam Lake (a reservoir in the hills). After check-in to the hotel, ride to the Liatlum canyon meaning “the End of Hills” situated at the edge of a cliff. Enjoy the picturesque view and get lost on your own thoughts. After returning back explore handicrafts and also devour on some ethnic food at the famous Shillong market in Police Bazar. Later in the evening relax and enjoy your tea or coffee at the famous Dylan’s Cafe and then head to the hotel for a perfect night’s sleep.

DAY2: SHILLONG TO CHERRAPUNJI (85KMS APPRX)

Get ready to travel to Cherrapunji known for its living root bridges and also holds the honour being the “wettest” place on earth. On the way visit the two-tier waterfall known as Elephant Falls and Mawkdok Dympep Valley. In Cherrapunji visit the Dainthen waterfalls and enjoy the eye-soothing Wei Sawdong also known as the three-level waterfalls or terrace waterfall. Visit Nohkalikai waterfall (the tallest plunge waterfall in India), Arwah Cave and Mawsmai cave a beautiful limestone cave.  Overnight Stay in Cherrapunji.

DAY 3: CHERRAPUNJI TO DAWKI (110KMS APPRX): 

Ready for some thrilling and adventurous in Dawki. Morning travel to visit Mawlynnong village, the cleanest village in Asia. Also visit the Single Living root bridge in Mawlynnong village .After that travel to Shnongpdeng in dawki. On the way visit the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Explore activities like boating, kayaking, cliff jumping, swimming in Shnongpdeng in Dawki. Overnight stay in Dawki.

DAY 4: DAWKI TO SHILLONG

Morning travel to visit the magical Krang Suri waterfall. After that travel to visit Phe Phe falls, which will definitely take your breath away. It will be 30 minutes trek to Phe Phe falls. Enjoy and travel back to Shillong. Overnight stay in Shillong.  

DAY 5: SHILLONG TO GUWAHATI: 

Morning travel to Guwahati as per your convenient time of flight. If time permits After Arrival in Guwahati Airport we shall take you to visit Kamakhya temple. The Kamakhya Temple is a Sakta temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas. With tons of memory say good bye to Assam. Morning, we shall drop you in Airport.

7. No Refund or Compensation for any unused services/transportation in any circumstance.
8. Visits to Museums/Parks/Monasteries/Forts  in the program is subject to their remaining open on the day of the visit as per the rules of the competent authority.
9. We will not bear any cost for flight canceled or delayed due to Bad weather or any other reason given by the airline. The cost of accommodation and transport in such cases will have to be borne by passenger.
10. No changes in the date of travel once booked.
11. Room allotment will be as per the availability at the time of check-in, floor or view preferences are not guaranteed.
12. All expenses which are not included in the cost of package shall be paid directly by tourist at the time of checkout.
13. All tourists are advised to take comprehensive Insurance on their own.
14. The timings given in itinerary and program may be changed without notice keeping in mind local development.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

1. 25% cancellation charges if cancelled before 30 days before the tour.
2. 50% cancellation charges if cancelled within a 10-29 days before the tour.
3. No refund for tour starting within 10 days, after the starting or middle of the tour.
4. The Process of Refund will take around 7 days to complete.
